The central office took some time out Friday to celebrate the impending arrival of Jill and Kaleb Hignutt's baby girl. Ms. Hignutt is an accountant in the finance office, and we can't wait to meet the latest addition to the office babies!

We're so pleased to welcome Maryland State Supt. Choudhury to the #CarolineFamily today! He'll spend the morning with Dr. VonDenBosch and the #ColonelTOUGH crew, and Dr. Holloway with the #CRMSCougars, and then join Dr. Simmons for his afternoon schedule.
Hamilton the Hamster was scheduled to spend today with #GESHornets in Ms. Drewes’ first grade class, and Dr. Simmons was happy to make the special delivery!

Blood pressure screening was recently offered to all employees in order to promote health and wellness. Everyone participating was entered into a raffle with a very wellness-themed prize. Congrats to Mr. Butler, Automotive Technology teacher at Caroline Career & Technology Center, who won the Nutribullet blender! We assume he will be making smoothies for the CCTC staff :).

The Rural Maryland Council served lunch to legislators and staff at Maryland Day last week. Caroline County was definitely in the house! We featured the ShoGo mobile, Blades Orchard apple cider doughnuts and spirulina from Virulina, Inc.

We're rocking our socks in the district office today! Wearing wacky socks is a tradition on World Down Syndrome Day because socks look a lot like a human chromosome and folks with Down syndrome have an extra one. It's a fun way to raise awareness! #worlddownsyndromeday
