Many thanks to the Caroline County Commissioners for proclaiming this Food Waste Prevention Week (April 7–13, 2025)! They welcomed the Green Club from Denton Elementary School as part of their efforts to raise awareness about food waste prevention.
During this week, all our schools are participating in activities designed to teach students the benefits of reducing food waste, which include saving money, reducing the negative impact of food waste on the environment, and addressing hunger in our communities.

Ten of our students had the opportunity to attend the Man the Shore Summit at UMES, a transformative experience designed to uplift and inspire young black males on their journey to leadership and education.
Through dynamic workshops on leadership development, financial literacy, career readiness and manhood, they gained valuable skills to shape their futures. Many thanks to former Maryland Teacher of the Year Dr. Richard Warren for providing our students the opportunity, and Caroline's Mr. Jackson and Mr. Howie for making participation possible!

At April’s board meeting, a new agreement was signed between the CCEA Education Support Professionals and the Board of Education. Dr. Willoughby summarized the agreement by saying, “Largely the theme was aligning language to the teacher agreement so that across the board, where appropriate and where available, we have one set of rules for all our employees, whether support staff, teachers or administrators. That is something that we are very proud of.”
