At the June Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Dr. Simmons celebrated the Class of 2026 by sharing impressive combined data from both high schools, highlighting years of hard work and achievement.
“Thanks to their focus and determination, this class earned just shy of five million dollars in scholarship money,” he reported. He emphasized that achievements like this are only possible with the dedication of teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff, the encouragement of families, and the generosity of our community.
Dr. Simmons also reported that of the 420 graduates, 175 seniors completed college credit through dual enrollment, 52 earned honors, and 93 achieved distinguished or high honors. The class also includes 92 National Honor Society members, 85 National Technical Honor Society members, and 249 Career & Technology Education Completers.
Looking ahead, 154 students are entering the workforce, 260 are enrolling in higher education at technical schools, two‑year colleges, or four‑year universities, and six students have formally enlisted in the military: four in the Army, one in the Army Reserves, and one in the Air Force.
