Dear Families:
As you are probably aware, there is the potential for significant snowfall over the weekend, likely impacting schools opening in the days that follow. While we have no way of predicting the weather, we do advise the following preparation:
Check with your student regarding any missing assignments, as days off next week will impact the end of the semester grading. Students will be given time after we return to finalize assignments prior to grades being locked.
Please be prepared for possible calendar changes dependent upon the number of days affected:
Thursday, January 29 is currently a half day for students. If we require a delayed opening that morning, it will be changed to a full day with a two-hour delayed opening.
Friday, February 6 could be changed from a full day to a half-day to meet contractural requirements.
Should we use more than the allotted three (3) snow days, we would consider changing Presidents Day, Feb. 16, to a school day. Note: This change would require Board approval first, followed by MSDE approval.
Verify your phone number and email in Powerschool so we may contact you in the event of a closure or calendar change.
For more information about weather delays and closings, please visit the Weather Delays and Closings on the website.
We appreciate your cooperation and encourage everyone to take the steps needed now to stay safe during the inclement weather. We’ll continue to share updates as needed.
