Congratulations to senior Chandler Tindall and junior Daniel Hesson for being chosen by the Maryland State Association of Baseball Coaches (MSABC) to play on their elite teams! Chandler will play on the East Region Classic Team (Seniors) on June 3rd, and Daniel will play on the East Region Futures Team (Juniors) on May 28th. #ColonelTOUGH #homegrown

Congratulations to our varsity baseball team for their 6-4 win over Northern Garrett High School in the playoff semifinals! The Colonels started the game down 3-0, but didn't give up! The winning pitcher was junior Daniel Hesson. Senior Chandler Tindall went 3-4 and senior Carter Walters went 2-3. Junior Brayden Dadds singled for the go ahead 2 runs, and seniors Conner Detrich and Cam Gondeck, and junior Gavin Whitby all hit safely. #ColonelTOUGH #homegrown
They will now play in the State Championship game on Saturday, May 27th at 1 PM at Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf against Clear Spring High School, a rematch of last year's state championship game! A link for tickets will be posted as soon as it's available.

Congratulations to seniors Caelyn Nichols and Caden Pollard for being awarded the Jane Harris Nashold Memorial Scholarship! This scholarship is presented by the Omicron Chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta, a teachers' sorority. Mrs. Price's Environmental Earth Science students had a class competition to create and build a dog house that would not change temperature in the presence of sunlight at the least amount of expense. Winners from first period were Vanessa Odidika, Aydan Downie, and Hayden Plutschak. The winners from third period were Danika Jeanty, Hailey Hauf and Olivia Ferris (absent). #ColonelTOUGH





Congratulations to our principal Dr. Nikki VonDenBosch for completing the Maryland Superintendent Academy this year! Through the Public School Superintendents' Association of Maryland and the Comprehensive Center Network Region 4, Dr. VonDenBosch represented our county in this intensive professional learning experience to prepare her for higher leadership roles! #ColonelTOUGH


At our Arts & Academic Showcase, Mr. Shelly's and Ms. Warden's PLTW Biomedical Sciences and Engineering students presented their capstone projects! These projects require the students to use their skills to design, test, analyze and evaluate a solution to a problem. #ColonelTOUGH

Outdoor Classroom to help improve mental health - Manny Wallace, Brayden Dadds, Austin Alexander, and Logan Moyer redesigned the courtyard to make it a usable and calming place that will be sustainable in the future for students to use.
Necklace Organizer - Katelyn Gosnell and Ally Jester designed and made a case that is portable to help people store their jewelry in a more careful and efficient manner.
Universal Socket - Brayden Wezel, Brandon Rommell, and Jeremiah Cephas designed an adjustable socket to place on a wrench to help increase the speed of finding the correct socket for different-sized bolts.
Lower Extremity Injury Prevention - Molly Coughenhour, Albert Chavez Ramirez, and Trinity Welch designed and tested a video, book, and training plan to strengthen legs to help reduce ACL injuries.
Tracheostomy Cover - People with trachs can have trouble with water entering the trach during shower time. Ally Taylor, Meghan Lambert, and Clarissa Peugh designed a cover to help prevent the water from entering the trach.
Organic Dog Scrub - Lexi Beans and Makayla Newcomb designed a scrub to help improve dog bathing time and smell.
Heelys for Animals - Annabeth Hill, Kameron Passwaters, and Hashir Amjad created Helly boots for dogs to help improve the movement of dogs with limited mobility.
Reduce Littering - Kendall Sann and Annie Phillips designed a sign and placed it at Federalsburg Maria to help prevent littering and improve recycling.
Cere(al)bowl - Daniel Hesson, Levi Divjak, and Isaac Uva designed a bowl and spoon to help people with motor function disabilities eat easier.
