Mrs. Smith's AP Chemistry students performed a chemical reaction to determine the percentage of carbon in sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) They collected data before and after the reaction, and then analyzed their data using their math skills to calculate their experimental answer. They also determined the theoretical answer and were able to describe the accuracy of their results by calculating their percent error. Finally, students analyzed sources of error to evaluate the accuracy and reliability of their experimental results. #ColonelTOUGH

Yesterday, our leadership team (Mr. Sherman, Mrs. Gardner, Mrs. France, and Mr. Sousa) visited classrooms to see how teachers are "shoreing" up instruction. We're calling them crab walks! We saw high engagement, little to no use of cell phones during instructional time, lots of student discussions, and teachers providing feedback in the form of thoughtful questioning. #ColonelTOUGH
