Physical Education teachers Rebecca Willoughby (Greensboro Elementary School) and Bryan Hall (Colonel Richardson Middle School) recently received the Simon A. McNeely Award from SHAPE Maryland.

This honor is awarded to educators who:

  • Demonstrate outstanding teaching and service in Health, Physical Education, Recreation or Dance;
  • Demonstrate innovations in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, or Dance through teaching and service;
  • Are a current member of SHAPE Maryland or a professional organization pertaining to your field;
  • Have presented or actively participated in local, county or regional workshops and conferences in the past three years;
  • Are actively involved in school and community affairs and problems related to Health, Physical Education, Recreation, or Dance; and, 
  • Have a minimum of 5 years professional experience in a Health, Physical Education, Recreation or Dance field.

The award was presented to Ms. Willoughby and Mr. Hall at the Shape MD conference in Ocean City on November 12, 2022. Both educators were also recognized at the December Caroline Board of Education meeting.
