At their May meeting, the Caroline County Board of Education approved the appointment of Brittney Baker as Supervisor of Instruction for Mathematics. Ms. Baker comes to Caroline from Dorchester County Public Schools where she has been the Supervisor of Mathematics K-12 since 2021. Prior to that, she was an instructional math coach and a mathematics teacher in Dorchester. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and earned her Master’s in Instructional Design and Technology.
In her introduction of Ms. Baker, Chief Academic Officer Nicole Vondenbosch said, “Brittney brings a strong combination of classroom, coaching and district leadership experience.” She shared that Ms. Baker has a deep understanding of MSDE’s initiatives as well as the new Math policy, has served as the Blueprint Pillar 3 chairperson, and leads the Eastern Shore Math collaborative team. Dr. VonDenBosch added, “Brittney’s colleagues describe her as a collaborative, dependable, highly organized leader who builds trust and drives meaningful results.”
Mary Jo Kerr, Principal, Preston Elementary School
Ms. Kerr has been principal at Greensboro Elementary since 2023, and was previously an assistant principal at GES. Ms. Kerr began her career as an elementary teacher in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She came to CCPS in 2008 to teach English Language Arts at Colonel Richardson Middle School and in 2018, was appointed assistant principal at Greensboro Elementary School. Ms. Kerr earned her Bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure in Allegany, New York, and her Master’s degree in educational leadership from Salisbury University.
A.J. Angeloni, Principal, Greensboro Elementary School
Mr. Angeloni has been principal at Preston Elementary School since 2019. He joined the Caroline family in 2005 as a Social Studies teacher at Lockerman Middle School. He was an assistant principal at Ridgely Elementary for several years before being appointed as principal at Preston. Mr. Angeloni has a Bachelor’s degree from Bloomsburg University in Secondary Education and History, and earned his Master’s degree from Salisbury University.
