We are proud to share that Caroline County Public Schools has been recognized as a 2025 Gold CareFirst Healthy Business. This distinction celebrates employers integrating wellness into their culture, including policy development, wellness committees, and health assessments. The award is designed to recognize sustained efforts in cultivating a healthy work environment rather than one-time initiatives.
“This award confirms we are on the right track,” Dr. Simmons said. “We plan to keep the momentum going by continuing to promote participation in the wellness programs and resources offered, whether they are physical, mental, financial, or social.” He also expressed appreciation to everyone on the district and school wellness teams for helping to create a workplace that values well-being.
Award winners will be honored at a celebration in Columbia on Thursday, June 4.
The districtwide Wellness Team includes representation including but not limited to food services, supervisors, parents, community agencies in health and wellness fields such as the Caroline County Health Department and Choptank Community Health Services.
The CCPS Wellness Executive Team is comprised of the director and supervisors from Student Services, Health Services, Food Services, and Health Education. In addition, each school has a Wellness Team comprised of administrators, teachers, support services including food services, parents, and students.
