Caroline students and staff across the county participated in a synchronized apple eating event known as Hear the Crunch! Superintendent Dr. Derek Simmons joined Ms. Swann's class at Greensboro Elementary this year in an effort to help crunch as loudly as possible at the designated time of 9:15 am. Beautiful apples were supplied by Rinehart Farms in Smithburg, Maryland.
Held during National School Breakfast Week, Hear the Maryland Crunch! highlights the importance of the School Breakfast Program in ensuring that all children get a healthy start to their day. In Caroline County Public Schools, all students are served breakfasts daily in all classrooms through the Maryland Meals for Achievement Program.
