This afternoon, Bus 59 transporting NCHS and LMS students was involved in an accident on River Road. The cause of the accident is under investigation by local law enforcement.
Caroline County Department of Emergency Services responded promptly to the scene and following individual evaluation, two people were transported to the hospital. All other passengers were transported to another location to await a replacement bus or parent/guardian transportation.
All parent/guardians were called directly to advise them of the situation and provided transportation options.
We greatly appreciate the immediate response of the Caroline County Sheriff’s Department, Maryland State Police, the State Highway Administration, Caroline Emergency Services, Ridgely Volunteer Fire Department, Greensboro Volunteer Fire Department, and our own staff at both NCHS, LMS and the district.
