Greensboro Elementary School (GES) was honored to be featured on NBC’s Today Show as part of its Giving Tuesday coverage, highlighting the school’s partnership with No Kid Hungry, a national organization dedicated to ending childhood hunger.

No Kid Hungry supports schools and communities across the country, including all schools in Caroline County, by helping ensure that every child has access to healthy, free meals. Working closely with the Food Services team, the organization helps strengthen and expand meal programs that directly benefit all Caroline County Public School students.

In November, the Today Show visited GES to film the work being done to support students. The crew spent the day in classrooms and the cafeteria, capturing the impact of school meal programs and speaking with members of the GES community. Interviews included teachers, parents, students, and Beth Brewster, Supervisor of Food Services for Caroline County Public Schools.

“We are incredibly grateful to No Kid Hungry for their ongoing support in feeding our students,” Ms. Brewster said. “It is an honor to have our work, and the incredible efforts of our staff and community, highlighted on a national stage.”

The segment celebrates the importance of school meal programs and the power of partnerships that help ensure every child has the nourishment they need to learn and thrive.
