Choir student Alyssa Bradley and Band student Wilson Clough, both from Colonel Richardson High School, were recognized at the May Board of Education meeting for being chosen for the Maryland Music Educators Association’s All State Ensembles for the 2024-2025 school yearE
Supervisor of Instruction Jon Marketto explained that All State ensembles represent the very best of student musicians in seventh through twelfth grade student from across the state of Maryland. Thousands of Maryland students endure a rigorous audition, with only 950 being accepted across all nine ensembles. In addition, Alyssa and Wilson were the only two Eastern Shore students chosen this year. Concerts were performed at Morgan State University in Baltimore.
Superintendent Dr. Simmons noted that this achievement would not have been possible without music teacher Thomas Cheezum, and that it was a great honor for students to be chosen.
