CCPS is expanding the PreKindergarten Program for three year olds as a result of a state expansion grant. While the number of seats is limited, the program has expanded to full day, five days a week at more locations with transportation provided.
The PreK-3 programs are located in the Federalsburg Judy Center Early Learning Hub, the Greensboro Judy Center Early Learning Hub, Preston Elementary School, and Ridgely Elementary School. Children in the Federalsburg, Greensboro, Preston and Ridgely areas will be assigned to their home school. Children in the Denton area will be assigned to either Preston or Ridgely, as determined by space available.
- For the 2023-2024 School Year, the child’s date of birth should be on or after September 2, 2019 and on or before September 1, 2020.
- Families must meet grant eligibility criteria including:
- Income eligibility
- Students who have an IEP, are an English Language Learner, or experiencing homelessness
Online enrollment begins July 17.
The purpose of CCPS's PreKindergarten Programs is to prepare children for Kindergarten. Both the 3 and 4 year old programs are full day and taught by certified staff. The comprehensive curriculum supports early learning and school readiness, and provides experiences that foster a child's academic, social, emotional and physical development.
