Two administrative appointments for the 2023-2024 school year were approved by the Board of Education at a June work session:

  • Deanne Waters, Assistant Principal, Preston Elementary School (PES)
    Ms. Waters began her teaching career in Caroline in 2012 as a special education teacher at North Caroline High School (NCHS), then as a 4th grade teacher at Greensboro Elementary School (GES) and taught there for four years. In 2020, she became the Reading Specialist and Instructional Coach at Preston Elementary School (PES). She obtained her Master's in Education as a Reading Specialist and Post-M.Ed. Certificate in Educational Leadership both from Salisbury University. Ms. Waters is also a graduate of the Caroline Aspiring Leaders Program. 
  • Andrea Hill, Assistant Principal, Lockerman Middle School (LMS)
    Ms. Hill began her career in 2001 as a middle school math teacher in Somerset County, followed by a private school position in Salisbury. In 2005, she became an elementary teacher and subsequently teacher specialist in Queen Anne’s County. 

Additionally, two appointments not requiring Board approval have been announced:

  • Jackie Murray, Assistant Principal, Greensboro Elementary School (GES)
    Ms. Murray has been the Preston Elementary School Assistant Principal since 2019 and was a teacher at Lockerman Middle School from 2012 until 2019.  
  • Erica McDonald, Coordinator of Special Education
    Ms. McDonald began her career as a Special Education teacher in Charles County, followed by a position in Calvert County. She came to Caroline in 2020 as a Special Education teacher and in 2022 was named Interim Elementary Special Education Coordinator.
