This is 5th grade (GT Class) with their catapults. They were using catapults to discuss trajectory in space as part of the Hidden Figures book they have been reading. They tested them first for distance. They worked extremely hard and the entire time were cheering each other on and supporting one another!

Get ready for three days of Sultana and PES 4th grade fun! Today it was Ms. August’s homeroom with the opportunity to visit the Sultana, learn about our local maritime history, and much more! Great job! Mr. Faller and Mrs. Drathman’s homerooms will be visiting later this week! Check out the full album on the PES Facebook page! #pespantherpride

Congratulations to Myiah Wright for being chosen as the PES Book Reviewer of the Week! The book that she gave a 4 star review for is the Graphic Novel Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier. Cat and Maya have just moved to California because the sea air makes it easier for Maya to breathe since she has cystic fibrosis. As the Day of the Dead celebrations draw closer, Cat encounters something and reconsiders what she believes! Our Myiah loved the story! You can find this book in the graphic novel section of the library. Congratulations Myiah!

Congratulations to this weeks PES PAWSITIVE Referral recipients! Madelyn and Alannah are doing a great job! These students are showing their PAWS each and every day! #pespantherpride

Congrats to Mrs. Barb Koeneke for being our Staff Member of the Week! Mrs. Koeneke always has the best interest of our Panthers at heart, and plays a pivotal role in getting our littlest Panthers prepared for their school journeys! She is always willing to adapt and be flexible no matter the situation, and that is so critical in an elementary school! Thank you so much for being you and for always loving our Pre-K Panthers!

Grades 3, 4 and 5 have been working on their golf swings in PE classes with Mrs. Saylor! They are looking good! PGA here they come ⛳️🏌️♂️🏌️♀️😎

What a great time at the Salisbury Zoo for our Pre-K Panthers today! Looks like they learned a lot about animals and had a ton of fun playing as well! Please see our Facebook page for the full album! #pespantherpride

Attention 1st-grade families: Due to the forecast of rain and inclement weather the 1st-grade field trip to Adkins Arboretum has been canceled for tomorrow, Friday, 4/28. We will be looking into potentially rescheduling this trip, and when more information becomes available we will share via our usual methods. Thank you for your understanding!

Reminder: Tomorrow is Baseball Spirit Day at PES! Wear your Orioles, Shorebirds, Colonel, or local teams gear to school. Please no cleats, but hats are encouraged and welcomed!

We want to wish Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Cohee, and Mrs. Reed a Happy Administrative Professionals Day! We appreciate them so much, and they are the very best in the world at what they do! We would not be able to do what we do each and every day, without their support, professionalism, and relationships they have with our community! Mrs. Cohee’s picture will be coming tomorrow, but as you can see, our Panthers definitely showed their love today for our three amazing administrative professionals! #pespantherpride #onefamily

Please see our Facebook page for the full album! #pespantherpride

Our fifth grade students took their field trip today to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum! They had fantastic weather and as you can see, they had a great field trip! Congratulations to Cole Boss for being chosen as the PES Book Reviewer of the Week! The book that he gave a 5 star review for is the Graphic Novel I Survived The Shark Attacks of 1916. A massive shark has been attacking swimmers in the ocean along the Jersey Shore, not far from where Chet Roscow is staying. Fear is in the air. So when he spots a gray fin in the creek, he's sure it's his imagination running wild. It's possible he's about to come face-to-face with a killer shark... right? This book is based on the real life events of the Jersey Shore shark attacks and Cole likes this book because of the attacking sharks! We have the novel and the graphic novel available in the Media Center! Come check it out! Congratulations Cole! #PESReads

Congratulations to Mrs. Laura Drathman! She is this week's Staff Member of the Week! Mrs. Drathman is such a down-to-earth person and willing to work on solutions that help everyone, a master of her craft with her 4th graders, and so great at forming lasting relationships with our students! We are so grateful for what she accomplishes every day here at PES - which is nothing short of changing lives for the positive each and every moment! #pespantherpride
