Dear PES Families,
We are so excited because it is ALMOST time to welcome back our PES Panthers! We hope you have all had a truly fantastic summer filled with laughter, fun, and new memories - and now it is time to prepare for an all-new adventure at PES as we "Level Up" together!
Our newsletter can be accessed here.
This year at Preston Elementary, our theme is “Level Up!” Just like in a game, leveling up means growing stronger, building new skills, and celebrating progress step by step. For our students, it’s about challenging themselves to reach new goals academically, socially, and personally. For our staff, it’s about working together to create the best learning environment possible. We’re excited to partner with you this year as we all “level up” and make 2025–26 the best school year yet!
We will be welcoming back our amazing teachers and support staff this coming Monday, 8/25 and they will have a full week of professional development along with time to prepare for your Panthers arrival! Please read below for all of our important updates!
📬 Class Assignments & Back-to-School Info
All class assignments and beginning-of-year information will be mailed and emailed out starting this week. We are currently working on our mailing, and we anticipate all families getting their mailing by this Friday or Saturday. This mailing will contain your student's class assignment, the annual PES Welcome Back Letter from Mr. Angeloni, a school supplies list, the CCPS School Calendar, our PES Home School Compact, and more!
📅 Mark Your Calendar: Meet the Teacher and the First Day of School
Our annual Meet the Teacher event will be held on Friday, August 29th, at 2 PM. This will be an opportunity to meet your students teachers, and also drop off school supplies. The 2025–2026 school year will begin post-Labor Day on Tuesday, September 2nd. Please note: Pre-K programs will begin one week later with their Orientation and Meet the Teacher event at 2 PM on Monday, September 8th, and their first day of school on Tuesday, September 9th.

New Security Measures at PES
At Preston Elementary, the safety of our students and staff is always our top priority. This year, we have added a new fishbowl window in our front office. Parents and guardians will now remain in the foyer when dropping off or picking up students, with office access limited to necessary business only. These updates bring us in line with other schools across CCPS and strengthen our overall security measures. We appreciate your support as we continue to make PES a safe and welcoming place for every child.
As always, thank you for your continued support. We look forward to an exciting year ahead!
