STUDENT TECHNOLOGY OBLIGATION PROGRAM

laptops

CCPS charges fees for damaged and missing student technology equipment. This program has two objectives:

Reduce cost
In the 2023-2024 school year, lost or damaged student technology increased by 30%. This includes devices, chargers, and carrying cases. Device repair cost totaled $102,000 for the year.

Encourage student responsibility
It is important that schools and families work together to instill a sense of responsibility for the devices and related materials they are issued.

This page outlines the deployment process, tiered pricing system, and payment options for technology devices provided by Caroline County Public Schools (CCPS) for student use, beginning Nov. 1, 2024.
Devices include Chromebooks, MacBook Airs, and iPads, which can be used as educational tools.
