Two staff members at Greensboro Elementary School have tested positive for COVID-19 this week. This is in addition to the two positive cases reported last week.
CCPS has worked with the Caroline County Health Department to identify close contacts of the newly confirmed cases who should quarantine for 14 days, and those individuals have been notified.
“Based on the information provided by the health department as a result of contact tracing, CCPS has no reason to believe these cases are related to each other or that this is a school-based spread,” Superintendent Patty Saelens stated. “However, in an abundance of caution, we have asked the Caroline County Health Department to provide testing at the school for all GES staff today. Any need for next steps will be determined based on test results.”
Information regarding protocol for suspected and positive COVID-19 cases and a weekly positive case report may be found on the CCPS website.
