Douglas Clements, a Kennedy Endowed Chair in Early Childhood Learning, and professor and co-executive director of the Marsico Institute of Early Learning and Literacy at the University of Denver’s Morgridge College of Education, will be conducting a workshop at the Avalon Theatre in Easton on October 26, 2018, from 8:30 am – 3:45 pm.
“The Surprising Importance of Math” will cover:
- Why developing an early foundation of mathematics understanding is critical for the long-term academic success of all learners
- Suggestions for how to introduce the youngest learners to basic mathematics concepts during everyday play.
- Intentional play-based learning
