Statement Following Gov. Hogan’s Announcement

<< Back to CCPS News

Following Governor Hogan’s press conference last Thursday, August 27th, several inquiries have been made regarding our plans for reopening schools. Caroline County Public Schools will continue to follow our Recovery Plan as approved by the Board of Education at the August Board meeting. Distance learning will begin as scheduled on September 8th, with specific groups of students returning as outlined in Phase 2 of the Recovery Plan.

It is important to note that every phase of returning students to the school building requires extensive and thorough planning that ensures the health and safety of all student populations and staff. Given that, we continue to work closely with healthcare partners to ensure we are following the guidance provided by them and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The patience of families, staff and the community is very much appreciated as we continue to prepare for the 2020-2021 school year.
