Caroline County Public Schools (CCPS) celebrated School Bus Safety Week by extending a special thanks to all bus drivers for their exceptional work in transporting students throughout the county and beyond.

CCPS buses travel more than 3,300 miles of road every school day, transporting over 5,500 students. “Our drivers perform the tremendous job of getting our students safely to school and back home again every day,” said Carmen Milligan, Transportation Supervisor for CCPS. “School Bus Safety Week is an excellent opportunity to show our appreciation to them, and to remind the community to be mindful of the buses on the road.”

All students received a wristband with a bus safety message. Each driver received a copy of Governor Hogan’s School Bus Safety Week Proclamation, a wristband, and a bus-themed cookie.

Bus drivers were also recognized for their hard work at the 2018 Transportation Picnic prior to the start of the school year.
