New Assistant Principal Appointed at Lockerman

Erin Blansfield was appointed new assistant principal at Lockerman Middle School at the December board of education meeting.

Ms. Blansfield comes to Caroline from the Red Clay Consolidated School District in Delaware where she was most recently the special education coordinator. She began her career in that district as a special education teacher, and also taught middle school in the Colonial School District.

Ms. Blansfield earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from LaSalle University, a Masters of Elementary Education from the University of Wilmington, and a Masters of Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Scranton. She also completed the Principal Preparation Program at the University of Delaware.

In his recommendation, Interim Superintendent Derek L. Simmons said that Ms. Blansfield came highly recommended by the interview team, especially given her experience in Special Education. “She will make a wonderful addition to CCPS and especially to the Lockerman family,” he added.

Ms. Blansfield was joined at the board meeting by Lockerman Principal Jon Grow, her husband Matt and eight month old daughter Olivia (all pictured).
