Rebecca Mielke-Mann was appointed new assistant principal at Lockerman Middle School (LMS) at the March board of education meeting.

Ms. Mielke-Mann began her career with Caroline County Public Schools in August of 2013 as a seventh grade Life Science teacher at LMS. She has been an integral part of the school community by serving on the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Committee, sponsoring the Environmental Club, chairing the National Junior Honor Society, serving on the School Improvement Team and acting as a new teacher mentor. During this school year, Ms. Mielke-Mann also served as acting assistant principal.

Ms. Mielke-Mann earned an Associates degree from Chesapeake College, and a Bachelor’s and Master’s of Teaching from Wesley College in Delaware. She also has an Administrative Certification I from Salisbury University.

In recommending Ms. Mielke-Mann to the Board, Interim Superintendent Derek L. Simmons applauded her for stepping up earlier in the year when assistant principal coverage was needed at LMS. “She has been an absolute asset to LMS. I hate to see her leave the classroom but she will be able to impact all students in her new role.”
