Earlier this month, the Colonel Richardson and Lockerman Middle Schools FIRST Lego League teams competed in Salisbury at the Eastern Shore Regional Qualifier Tournament.

The Colonel Richardson Middle team, The Cargo Cougars, won the Innovation Project Award, and tied for second place in the competition. They researched the transportation of cargo around the country and developed a design to make delivery trucks more efficient. The team also competed with a robot that they designed to complete several tasks.

The Lockerman team, Lego Legends earned two different awards that day. They received the Judges Award for their unique efforts and performance. They also received the Global Innovation Nomination for their MagLev Freight Car Project. The team will now submit their project to the Maryland state FIRST Lego League judges to try to earn a slot at the national competition in St. Louis in June.
