McCormick Appointed Director of Instruction; Other Administrative Changes Announced

At the July Board of Education meeting, the Board approved the appointment of Lindsey McCormick as director of instruction for CCPS.

McCormick has a bachelors degree in Social Work and a masters in Elementary Studies, and has been with CCPS for more than 20 years. She began her career as an instructional assistant before becoming a teacher at Ridgely Elementary School. She later held the positions of reading specialist with Colonel Richardson Middle School and assistant principal at Lockerman Middle School. Prior to this appointment, McCormick was the supervisor of accountability. McCormick also has the distinction of being the Caroline County 2008-2009 Teacher of the Year.

Superintendent Saelens stated, “Lindsey brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this position, and will make an excellent addition to the CCPS executive team.”

In addition, Dr. Saelens has announced the following administrative appointments:

• Jonathan Grow, current assistant principal at Lockerman Middle School, will be the new supervisor of accountability.

• Richard Petroske, current assistant principal at Preston Elementary School, will move to an assistant principal position at Lockerman Middle School.

• Jaclyn Murray, currently a teacher at Lockerman Middle School, will be the acting assistant principal at Preston Elementary School.

• Briana Walker, new to CCPS from Prince George’s County Public Schools, will be at Denton Elementary in the new assistant principal position.

Dr. Saelens stated, “With this latest group of appointments, all administrative teams are in place and ready for the start the 2019-2020 school year. We are looking forward to an exciting and productive year for our students and staff.”
