Federalsburg Elementary School recently hosted Homegrown School Lunch Week, a statewide initiative that showcases local farms and produce, along with dishes prepared by culinary school students at Caroline Career and Technology.

A large variety of food and drink made from local ingredients was set up around the gym for students and guests to sample. Several students acted as hosts and enjoyed a farm-to-school lunch with Superintendent of School Patricia Saelens, Assistant Superintendent Milton Nagel, school board member James Newcomb, Jr., County Commissioners Dan Franklin, Wilbur Levengood, and Larry Porter, local community members, and many elected state officials.
