Guest speaker from Maryland DNR visits CCTC Homeland Security-Criminal Justice class

Corporal Ray Griggs, a recruitment officer from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR), recently visited students in Caroline Career and Technology’s (CCTC) Homeland Security-Criminal Justice class.

Cpl. Griggs provided insight into career opportunities available through DNR, and explained the various training and cadet programs offered. He shared a variety of experiences that have occurred throughout his 20 year career, along with many photos.

Cpl. Griggs also talked about the importance of character, honesty, and integrity, not only in careers but also in life in general. He reminded students to make smart decisions and remember the big picture while navigating life, reinforcing the college and career ready motto of CCTC.

The Homeland Security-Criminal Justice class, new to CCTC this year and taught by Mr. Eric Cook, introduces students to multiple aspects of criminal justice and law enforcement. Students explore the criminal justice process, various forces that impact law enforcement, and the rights of citizens. The class equips students with the general knowledge needed for to enter various law enforcement careers at the local, state, and federal levels.
