Brittainy Simmons, Media Center Specialist at Federalsburg Elementary School, was the featured educator in the Maryland Society for Educational Technology (MSET) January 2020 Digital Learning Showcase.

Amy Shepler, Supervisor of Instruction, recognized Ms. Simmons at the February board of education meeting. “Ms. Simmons’ library is more than just a place to read a book. Students at Federalsburg are regularly exposed to coding devices, green screens, and other exciting tools in the Makerspace toolkit,” Ms. Shepler said.

In her remarks, Ms. Shepler quoted Federalsburg principal Dr. Yolanda Holloway as saying, “Ms. Simmons’ biggest win for our school is creating a media center that is busy and energetic. She’s integrated traditional reading and 21st century technology to create a space that’s really cool and fun.”
