Just a few days before winter break, two Elves traveled from the North Pole to Greensboro Elementary School. They brought students and staff good cheer, candy canes, and a promise to deliver messages to Santa in advance of his big trip next week. They were pleased to see that it was Pajama Day at the school which made everything very comfy and cozy.

Why Greensboro? Every year, Caroline County Public Schools fundraises among staff for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program run by the Caroline County Public Library that provides free books to children from birth to age five. In the spirit of competition, schools compete to raise the most money and win a visit from the Elves.

This coming spring, CCPS will present the library with a check for the total amount raised from all fundraising efforts, including the school competition. But for now, the Elves headed back to the North Pole to let Santa know GES students and staff have been very, very good this year.
