At the December board of education meeting, Kristine Neville, Colonel Richardson Middle School Special Education teacher, was recognized for renewing her National Board Certification. Ms. Neville is now recertified through 2029 in the area of Exceptional Needs Specialist/Early Childhood Through Young Adulthood.

Ms. Neville has been a CCPS teacher for 28 years, all with Colonel Richardson Middle School. She earned her National Board Certification in November 2009. In order to recertify, teachers create and submit a Profile of Professional Growth (PPG) demonstrating how their practices continue to align with the Five Core Propositions in their certificate area. The renewal process allows a teacher to reflect on how their teaching practice continues to support student learning. Just under 3% of the nation’s teachers are nationally board certified.
