This course examines cultural and societal values, norms and mores including the structure of society, human needs, their roles and relationships. The study of agents of socialization such as the family unit, schools, religion, peers, the workplace, mass media, and technomedia familiarize students with the various dynamics of society. Students are exposed to both pure and applied sociological concepts in order to connect the classroom lessons with the world beyond the classroom for a better understanding of society as a whole. Prerequisites and other notes: An elective course available for grades 10-12.
