Advanced work is offered in areas such as childhood personality theories and behavior patterns. Emphasis is placed on expanding the students’ knowledge of careers in child development. Topics of study include implementation of curriculum and instructional techniques in a preschool operation, nurturing the components of intelligence, school readiness and the exceptional child. The laboratory preschool will provide students with an opportunity to develop and integrate preschool learning experiences. Prerequisites and other notes: Human Growth and Development (80821) and Child Development Laboratory (80822). Recommended for grade 11. Students must take Industry Assessment (ParaPro) to receive credit for course.
