Caroline County Public Schools is excited to announce the first edition of the Wellness Newsletter, created by the CCPS Wellness Committee. The newsletter will be a vehicle for sharing news, information, and updates of benefit to staff and student families. For the first newsletter, each school’s wellness committee shared their goals for the year and activities occurring around those goals. In addition, the newsletter contains National Nutrition Month information and several healthy recipes.
The CCPS Wellness Committee includes representatives from student services, health services, food services, and health education. The wellness committee recognizes that schools play a critical role in promoting resources that create a safe, secure, and inviting environment for students and foster a culture of health and well-being for staff.
CCPS is a member of the Coordinated School Health Council that involves community stakeholders such as the Caroline County Health Department and Choptank Community Health. In addition, each school has a Wellness Committee that plays a critical role in promoting the health and wellness of their students and staff.
“We are really proud of the work of our Wellness Committees at every level,” Superintendent Patty Saelens stated. “The district newsletter is a welcomed addition to the resources already provided to staff and students.”
