CCPS Community Celebrates Greensboro Judy Center Groundbreaking

<< Back to CCPS News

Caroline County Public School staff and community leaders gathered at the site of the new Judy Center Early Learning Hub in Greensboro in December to celebrate the beginning of construction on a new building.

Interim Superintendent Dr. Derek Simmons welcomed guests and said that a project like this coming to fruition was the result of collaboration with vital partners at all levels. He invited remarks from Caroline County Commissioner Larry Porter, Board of Education President James A. Newcomb, and Whiting-Turner Project Manager Katie Northam.

Supervisor of the Judy Centers and the Family Support Center Tearesa French thanked everyone involved, and explained the mission of the Judy Centers, which is to promote school readiness through collaboration with community-based agencies and organizations.  Through these partnerships, the Judy Centers are able to provide a full range of early intervention and comprehensive services within the school and center.

The Center is expected to open to approximately 300 children and adults in the fall of this year.

Event photos are available on the CCPS Flickr page.
