Caroline Students Win at State High School Young Authors Contest

Three Caroline students were named among the winners in the State of Maryland Literacy Association (SOMLA) High School Young Authors Contest:

  • Joanna Schoonover, CRHS, 11th grade, first place Short Story for “The Leper”
  • Brooklyn Lindsey-Taylor, NCHS, 12th grade, second place Poetry for “Jane Doe”
  • Olivia Ordonez, NCHS, 12th grade, first place Short Story for “The Curse of the Phantom Heart”

The students were recognized by the Board of Education at the April meeting. An anthology with submissions from all the winners will be published on the SoMLA’s website.
