Students in grades 6 through 12 are being given the opportunity to make Martin Luther King, Jr. Day a “day on, not a day off.”
Caroline County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, January 18, in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. However, middle and high school students may log onto a Zoom meeting from 10:00 am until noon to take advantage of an opportunity to provide service to their community.
Staff will be on hand to facilitate student participation in the following service learning activities:
- Create videos or virtual cards for local nursing home residents
- Create flyers or videos to encourage donations for local food / clothing drives
- Discuss and reflect on Dr. King’s work; express your thoughts through writing or art
Service Learning hours may be earned through participation. Zoom login information has been provided to students through principal newsletters.
