The Caroline Soil Conservation District Board of Supervisors recently held their Annual Cooperators Picnic at the 4-H Park in Denton. At that event, they awarded two $1,000 scholarships to Caroline County seniors who plan to continue their education in the field of agriculture.

Cameron McMahan, recently graduated from Colonel Richardson High School, and Elizabeth Ross, North Caroline High School graduate, were this year’s scholarship recipients. Their awards were presented by Carol Middleton, the Maryland Department of Agriculture planner for Caroline County.

The Caroline Soil Conservation District has been providing technical assistance and cost share for agricultural best management practices in Caroline County since 1941. They are governed by a local board of supervisors.
