At the December Board of Education meeting, Dr. Patty Saelens announced that Caroline County Public Schools earned and was awarded the Wellness at Work Silver Award. She attributed the recognition to the leadership of CCPS Health Services Coordinator Jennifer Yost. When presented with the plaque, Ms. Yost thanked her team for their hard work, and said it was definitely a team effort to keep staff as healthy as possible.

The Healthiest Maryland Businesses Wellness at Work Awards Program recognizes Maryland businesses that are committed to improving employee health and well-being and highlight wellness initiatives that meet all components of the CDC’s Workplace Health Model. The awards recognize employers committed to improving employee health and well-being and are based on four criteria: assessment, planning and management, implementation, and evaluation. Businesses can be awarded one of four levels: Gold, Silver, Bronze, and On the Path.

In August, the Maryland Department of Health hosted a Healthiest Maryland Business Awards Webinar to honor the winners of the Worksite Wellness Awards. The presentation slides are available online.
