Board Appoints Assistant Principals at DES and NCHS

At the February board of education meeting, the board voted unanimously to appoint Sarah B. Crebs assistant principal at Denton Elementary School (DES), effective February 11, 2019. Crebs has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Science degree from Bloomsburg University. She taught for six years with Talbot County Public Schools before coming to Caroline in 2016 as a special education teacher. Crebs has been acting assistant principal at DES since September. Superintendent of Schools Patricia W. Saelens said, “Sarah is an exceptional educator who is an excellent fit for the position at DES.”

Also at the February meeting, the board unanimously approved the appointment of Russell A. Austin as assistant principal at North Caroline High School (NCHS), effective Febuary 1, 2019. Austin has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and a Master of Education degree from Goucher College. He has been employed with Anne Arundel County Public Schools since 1997 as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal. “Russ brings a wealth of talent and skill to the position,” said Dr. Saelens, “and we are happy to welcome him to the NCHS family.”
