CCPS students and staff across the county participated in a synchronized apple eating event known as Hear the Crunch! Interim Superintendent of Schools Dr. Derek Simmons joined kindergarteners at Ridgely Elementary School in an effort to help crunch as loudly as possible at the designated time of 9:15 am. Apples were supplied by Blades Orchard in Federalsburg.
Held during National School Breakfast Week, Hear the Maryland Crunch! highlights the importance of the School Breakfast Program in ensuring that all children get a healthy start to their day. In Caroline County Public Schools, all students are served breakfasts daily in all classrooms through the Maryland Meals for Achievement Program.
